As pioneers in the green building movement, the U.S. and China continue to seek common ground on developing sustainable solutions for the built environment. Indeed, China's leadership has demonstrated a strong commitment to promoting green buildings in China, and USGBC is committed to learning from the region and supporting local leaders so that green buildings will flourish and benefit China.
Market demand in China has also demonstrated a keen interest in LEED. In fact, China is the third largest market for LEED in the world with over 1,500 LEED registered and certified projects. China has shown incredible leadership in the uptake of sustainable construction practices, including through the design and construction of LEED certified projects.
USGBC leadership just returned from a trip to China- our second this year- where we met with local LEED professionals to discuss the development of tailored alternative compliance paths (ACPs), a tool now available in Europe that will allow LEED to continue meeting the local environmental and cultural needs of China and the Asia-Pacific region. This inaugural convening represented an important step for ensuring the flexibility and adaptability of one of the world's most widely used green building rating system.

- Improving the business case and value of green buildings through recertification vision and implementation
- The Rigorous Quality Assurance Management program which streamlines the LEED project review process for those who use LEED frequently
- A proven provider program that helps LEED consultants differentiate quality
- The launch of LEED v4, slated for later this year, will set another high bar for green building implementation with a considerable emphasis on building performance.
