Panasonic, one of the largest electronic companies in the world, which provides a wide range of products under the Panasonic brand to enrich people’s lives all around the world, aims to be the No. 1 Green Innovation Company in the electronics industry in 2018, the 10th anniversary of its founding.

The company announced they would make the ‘environment’ central of all their business activities and take the lead in promoting the ‘Green Revolution’, which is taking place around the world for the next generation.
Talking to The Daily Star during a recent visit to Panasonic Centre in Tokyo, Atsushi Inoue, manager of the Planning Team of the of the company, said the company will offer better living which provides people around the world with a sense of security, comfort and joy in a sustainable way.

For example, he said the Panasonic will offer living with virtually zero CO2 emissions for the entire home and building with recycling-oriented products.

“We will realise this green life by creating innovative business, products and services one after another, and offer them throughout the community,” he added.

Panasonic on November 7, 2012 announced the development of the company’s ‘Smart ecoie’, or ‘Smart Eco House’ in English, a smart home incorporating the company’s energy technologies and knowledge and experience of design and materials.

The ‘Smart ecoie’ makes use of Panasonic’s wide range of products and technologies.

The house itself utilises the company’s ‘Technostructure’ building materials and construction methods, which are earthquake-resistant and offer long lasting, high quality durability.

The ‘Smart ecoie’ features solar panels for energy creation, storage batteries for energy storage, energy saving equipment as well as the Smart Home Energy Management System ‘SMARTHEMS’, equipped with the ‘AiSEG’, which connects the electrical equipment and appliances around the home for smart energy saving.

As well as the above ‘active’ systems, the ‘Smart ecoie’ also incorporates ‘passive design features’ in the room layout, windows and ventilation that take advantage of the insulation and the elements, allowing energy to be used efficiently in the home throughout the year.

Save energy, create energy, store energy and link for greener lifestyle.

Panasonic proposes a lifestyle with virtually zero CO2 emissions throughout the entire home. CO2 emissions are thoroughly reduced by enhancing energy saving performance of home appliance and utilising building materials with high insulation performance. And remaining energy will be supplied by creating and storing energy with a combination of solar power generators, fuel cells, and storage batteries. Intelligent use will also be made of natural blessings such as air, light, water and heat to realise a more comfortable lifestyle.

Panasonic’s Smart Eco House appliances include smart air conditional, lighting design, LED lighting, Organic glass material technology.

The Panasonic also introduced life style to save water bill and CO2 emissions in washing machines, dryer washes and dries with less water.

Besides, the Panasonic has many more innovations for home appliances like vacuum insulation panel for refrigerators, heat pump technology for air conditioners, washers, power generation using solar panel without emitting CO2 etc.
