With the incoming Consumer Rights Directive coming into force on 13th June 2014, every Company must change their contract of terms and conditions by 13th June 2014. To help companies cope with the new legislation the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) has now published revised Model Terms and Conditions of Contract, plus Guidance on implementation of the EU Consumer Rights Directive for both GGF Members and non-Members.

CPA Proposes Changes to EPA’s Formaldehyde Emissions Regulations

The Composite Panel Association (CPA) submitted extensive public comments last week criticizing EPA’s proposed formaldehyde emissions regulations for ignoring specific Congressional directives and the established model in use by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). The proposed rules, released for public comment in May, are intended to implement the Formaldehyde Standards for Composite Wood Products Act, signed by President Obama in 2010.

The American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) has released AAMA 643-13, Voluntary Specification, Performance Requirements and Test Procedures for Solar Reflective Finishes, which describes the test procedures and performance requirements for pigmented organic coatings applied to aluminum, fiber reinforced thermoset or wood profiles for windows, doors, wall panels and similar products.

AAMA Releases Specification for Self Adhering Flashing for Exterior Wall Fenestration Installation

The American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) has released an updated standard that establishes minimum performance requirements for self adhering flashing surrounding exterior wall fenestration products. AAMA 711-13, Voluntary Specification for Self Adhering Flashing Used for Installation of Exterior Wall Fenestration Products also provides a method to determine the minimum width of the flashing products and to evaluate the influence of environmental factors on the installation of self adhering flashing products applied under typical field conditions.

AHFA Execs to lawmakers: Formaldehyde Rule Costs Staggering

A team of American Home Furnishings Alliance member executives is meeting with lawmakers to detail concerns with the proposed national formaldehyde rule for composite panel.

An AHFA press release said the proposed federal formaldehyde rules released in June will dramatically increase costs and force plant closures and job loss.
