NAHB to Introduce New Economic Index Measuring Housing and Economic Progress in Local Markets10/21/2013
Starting on October 7, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) will launch a new economic index called the NAHB/First American Leading Markets Index (LMI). This new index will replace the Improving Markets Index (IMI) and will shift the focus from identifying markets that have recently begun to recover to those that are now approaching and exceeding their former normal levels of economic progress.

The proposed rules, released for public comment in May, are intended to implement the Formaldehyde Standards for Composite Wood Products Act, signed by President Obama in 2010.
